Devlog 1 : Making of a Platformer

HEY THERE! I am starting a new small platformer game using Godot. There is something I've wanted to try for a while - starting a game, and not leave it mid-way through, committing to a simple idea, and seeing how far can I take it within this timeframe.
The core idea is pretty basic and straightforward: you're a character who moves through levels, jumps on enemies to defeat them, collect coins, click the lever and unlock the door to the next level (basic stuff).
To help stay on track, I’ve set up a kanban board that outlines everything I need to get done. Right now, it’s mostly filled under the “To-Do” section, with tasks like player movement, enemy logic, collectibles, and basic UI. The other columns (Doing, Stuck, and Done) are empty for now, but I’ll be shifting things around as I go.
This devlog marks Day 0 — the planning phase. No art, no gameplay yet, just a game idea. I’ll be posting updates here as I make progress, tackle problems, and try to keep scope under control.
Follow along if you want to see the entire chaos.
More updates coming soon. Thanks for reading!
